The land of Gaza has been in calamity when Israel strikes the land and killed approximately 13 people so far and injured 20, including the military commander of Hamas, Ahmed Al-Jabari. He who ran the organization's armed wing, the Izz al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, died along with his son after their car was targeted by an Israeli missile.
The Israel Defence Force (IDF) said that the assassination of Ahmed Al-Jabari marked the beginning of operation “Pillar of Defence” against Gaza terrorist. This is the response from the firing of rockets from Gaza into Israel that had been increased steadily over the past three years. During the first few hours of the operation, which is being orchestrated by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz from army headquarters in Tel Aviv, the Air Force launched more than 20 strikes in Gaza. The strikes also destroyed dozens of long-range projectiles, including Fajr-5 missiles, which are stored in Hamas and Islamic Jihad warehouses.
The act of Israel is condemned by the authorities of Egypt including its President Mohamed Morsi. Following this unfortunate event, Egypt has withdrawn its ambassador in Israel, Yasser Ridha. In response, Israel has reportedly removed its ambassador in Egypt.

A demo was held by Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSP) Cork to protest the Israelis recent attack on Gaza. It was held at Daunt Square, Cork City at 18:00 pm today. During the demo, the people who joined this event paraded along the main street in Cork City and spread the awareness about the unfortunate event that happened in Gaza. They also lit some candles as the symbol of mourning over the death of the people who died in the strikes.
On the recent crisis, the Israel launched its project named ‘Operation Pillar of Cloud’ or ‘Operation Pillar of Defence’ against the Hamas and other Islamist groups which they referred to as terrorists. The operation has killed 13 people and injured 115 people since yesterday. The bombardment has taken the form of airstrikes, mortars from land and shelling from the sea.
The crisis in Gaza attracts attentions around the globe. The demo is also held in Dublin, Limerick, Belfast, and London today.
